Obedience is better than Sacrifice.

There was once a man named Daniel who wanted to be closer to God.

He believed that if he showed how unworthy he was by fasting for days, wearing old clothes, and constantly calling himself a sinner, God would see his efforts and love him more.

One day, an old friend noticed Daniel’s actions and asked, "Why are you doing all this?"

Daniel replied, "I want to prove to God how much I need Him, so He’ll love me more."

The friend smiled and told him a story.

Imagine a father and his child.
The child wants to show his dad how much he loves him, so he stops eating, avoids playing, and spends all his time crying about how unworthy he is.

Do you think the father would love him more because of that?

Daniel frowned.

Of course not!

A good father already loves his child, no matter what.

"Exactly," said the friend.

God is the perfect Father.

  • He doesn’t need you to prove your worth.
  • His love isn’t something you can earn, it’s a gift.

Instead of trying so hard to deserve it, why not just enjoy it and live in it?

That day, Daniel stopped trying to impress God and simply started walking in the joy of His love.

He realized there was nothing he could do to make God love him more or less because God’s love was already complete.

And from then on, Daniel’s relationship with God became less about effort and more about trust, peace and gratitude.

Are you desperately trying to make God love you more, desist and just obey his commands and instructions in all things.

Obedience is better than sacrifices.

Peace.
